Hi, I’m Mike Culliney, I’m the Managing Director at MRC Estate & Letting Agents. I became a landlord myself over 30 years ago.

After engaging a couple of agents to manage my properties and receiving a less than satisfactory service, I decided to have a go myself. I wanted to bring a fresh approach to the industry with the focus being on the landlord and using the latest technologies to allow both landlords and tenants to access their accounts when wanting to view up to date information. I’m proud to say that to this day, we continue to be at the forefront of technology. We continually invest in our operating systems and have achieved our vision of running a paperless process.

Due to my dual role as landlord and agent, I have a balanced view and appreciation of potential implications resulting from legislative changes. We lead the way in communication with landlords, continually monitoring the latest changes and adapting our business to ensure that we offer the best service available on the market.

Rick Bowers

Financial Director

I would like to introduce myself, I’m Rick Bowers and I’m the Finance Director.

Receipting and processing all rental payments, dealing with invoices, producing statements, I oversee all accounts matters and ensure that both clients and contractors are paid on time.

Having joined MRC in 2010, I have been instrumental in maintaining a high level of efficiency within the Accounts function as well as training other members of the Accounts team.

I am a keen golfer and represent MRC at many corporate golf days (some of which we actually win!).

Aaron Blagg

Accounts Administrator

I’m Aaron, I joined MRC in 2016 as an apprentice. Upon successful completion of my NVQ level 2 Business Administration qualification, I was taken on full time in October 2017 and am now studying for my AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification. One of the many things I enjoy about my job is that I’m always being encouraged to develop my skills and continue with my studies.

Away from MRC, I’m a keen sportsman and particularly enjoy playing both Cricket and football. I’m also a proud season ticket holder for my beloved Hull City Football Team.

Danielle Garton (ARLA)

Senior Lettings Negotiator

Hi, I’m Danielle, I have been at MRC for over 10 years now having joined as an apprentice in May 2007. I interact with both landlords and tenants ensuring that everything runs smoothly on a daily basis and have just gained my diploma in Residential Property lettings and Management.

I’m told that my colleagues see me as “the go to person” for all of the team in the front office as due to my wide range of knowledge across all aspects of the business. I dedicate my time to carrying out the often-complex administrative work associated with lettings allowing others in the team to focus on our clients’ needs.

Away from work, I like to wind down with cooking and lots of retail therapy!

Russell Flanagan (ARLA)

Maintenance Manager

Hello, I’m Russell and I’m MRC’s longest serving team member, having joined the Company in 2005. Over the years, I have held a variety of roles within MRC.

Currently, I am responsible for carrying out property inspections on behalf of our clients, a service which helps keep landlords fully informed about any necessary repairs whilst affording tenants an opportunity to raise any questions they may have in relation to maintenance, thus, landlords and tenants alike can feel confident that the property is being well cared for and maintained to a high standard. I hold the NFOPP (National Federation of Property Professionals) Level 3 Technical Award which is equivalent to an NVQ Level 3.

Away from the office, like Rick, I am a keen golfer and also represents MRC at many corporate golfing events!

Jo Ward

Commercial Director

Extensive sales and marketing experience across a broad-range of industries, for the last 9 years has worked exclusively within the property industry on both residential sales and new build projects. Likes keeping fit and is a committed and frequent runner. Loves to travel and enjoys cocktails and designer handbags.

I’m Calum. I started at MRC as a 16 year old Apprentice, I left briefly to travel the world before returning to work in the repairs department. I am helping to configure and launch our new repair management program, which is called Task Manager and will enable tenants to keep abreast of repairs regarding the property they rent with instant notifications.

I’m Logan, I’m currently studying at Hull University while also helping out on the repairs and admin departments.
