After much consultation, speculation and suspense; The Tenant Fees Bill has now passed it’s final hurdle in the House of Commons and will receive Royal Assent before it is implemented on 1st June this year.
What is the Tenant Fees Bill?
The bill bans all upfront fees charged to tenants such as referencing fees, administration fees and contract renewal fees.
These changes have caused some concern across the lettings market, but landlords and agents such as ourselves who offer an extremely valuable and high-quality service will continue to be in high demand and play an important role in the sector.
